BIOGRAPHY
Hailing from Sheffield, UK – With their soaring vocals, infectious energy, and retro-meets-modern sound, Lina and the Lions have become an unmissable live act for Comic-Con and pop culture events across the UK and Europe.
Blending 80s-inspired synth-pop and rock with cinematic flair, Lina and the Lions create the ultimate live soundtrack for fandom events. With a sound that echoes Stranger Things and icons like Blondie and Cyndi Lauper, fused with the modern cinematic energy, they offer an immersive experience that energises attendees and transforms the day. They have quickly become a staple at major Comic-Con events.
Led by vocalist and bassist Lina Lane, alongside guitarist Lee Feltham and a dynamic live drummer, the band’s magnetic presence is matched by their authenticity. As lifelong geeks and con-goers themselves, Lina and the Lions are not outsiders performing to a crowd, they are performing with their people.
“We wanted every song to have the potential to be someone’s personal anthem,” Lina expressed. “At Comic-Cons, we are all heroes, dreamers, and adventurers! Having your very own original soundtrack is a must.”
Following a successful UK-wide Comic-Con tour, the band has performed to tens of thousands across major venues such as Manchester’s BEC Arena, Nottingham Arena, Liverpool Arena (Liverpool Comic Con) and internationally at Spain’s Costa Brava Comic-Con. Their live shows draw everyone in, from 3-year-olds dancing with parents, to teens discovering their new favorite band at their first ever live concert, to senior fans reminiscing over familiar sounds.
“We’re constantly humbled by the people who stop, dance, sing along, or just take a moment to listen,” says Lina. “Whether it’s a child in costume or an adult rembracing their inner youth, it means the world that we get to be part of their day.”
A Soundtrack Born from the Con Floor
The band’s critically acclaimed album Second Nature is a celebration of courage, hope and self-belief, perfectly aligned with the spirit of Comic-Con. Their upcoming release, Of A Third Kind, was directly inspired by meeting fans of all ages and backgrounds during their tour. It’s a bold next chapter that speaks directly to the transformative, imaginative core of pop culture communities.
SET TIMES
Lina and the Lions can offer up to a 60 minute performance and also perform multiple times throughout the day if necessary. Previous events have shown that having the band perform a set of 30 minutes, 2-3 times throughout the day works well. They are also able to perform anywhere between 5-15mins between panels to cover the changeover.
The sets are made up mostly of songs from their original albums “Second Nature” and “Of A Third Kind” as well as a few fun covers. Recent features have been Running Up That Hill, Psycho Killer, Time After Time, Red Dwarf Theme, Flash Gordon Theme by Queen and many more…
